Welcome to my very first attempt at creating a Kaleidoscope Color Scheme. Although it has been somewhat of a headache. (my first Read-me file got nuked by a scheme-related crash) I have managed to cobble together a workable and attractive (ok, maybe just I think so) scheme. This was produced and compiled with the help of the Design Studio by Akamai on my Performa 6260 with the Japanese MacOS version 7.5.1. and Kaleidoscope v1.7, and that would be the extent of my testing. I apologize, but I had to wait around until the Studio came out to start making my scheme, as limited as my knowledge was about this whole pseudo-programming world. Of course, I learned how to use ResEdit on the fly in the end, but still it was a wonderful tool to work with. I promise to buy my copy as soon as the results come out for the contest, my whole reason for making this thing in the first place. (Ok, maybe excuse so I don't have to do other things, not reason, per se. ) I didn't have enough time to figure out how to make folders and make them in the three days I decided to do this thing, so they will be forthcoming. (I'm hooked big time.) Hope it doesn't ruin my chances.... Yah, well anyway thanks anyone who is actually reading this and a thousand pardons to anyone who actually uses my scheme on their computer.
A small note: So far, I've only truly customized the Gold setting buttons, although you could use the Lavender ones, as they are fairly well done. Otherwise, you will just have to deal with plain ol' buttons, sorry. Also, as I wanked around I set a few b&w stuff, but mostly this is a 8-bit color scheme. I just haven't had time to polish the four bit or b&w parts yet. I will, I will.

If anyone actually takes a liking of this scheme to the point where they want to distribute it in a compilation or something, I want notice! (and hopefully a copy of the compilation, etc.) One, because this scheme is free only as long as it is personal, non-commercial use, and two because that would be cool and I wanna know about it. At the moment this is freeware, but I reserve the right to change that with a new version, If actually get to the point where I feel I could charge for my work. (Like in hours expended, quality of product, etc.) Not that anyone actually sends money in for schemes... but still it's a thought. (I'm sure there are many hyper-active guilty consciences out there that cause people pay more than the requested amount because they feel bad for all those people who never pay a cent, who just continue to click the (not yet) buttons their whole life. )
Changes from 1.0 and new notes.
This has all occured in a matter of hours, but I doodled around and made up a couple folders, which are attached to this version, inside the actual scheme, so no pluging-in, it'll be automatic. Other changes are a small improvement of the lavender buttons and the rare color adjustment. I imagine this'll be the last version I'll be able to squeeze in before the contest dealine, so this'll be all for a while.
Oh, the stamps on the folders were created by TetsubinStamp, and I got some ideas for my folders from the ones I use on my system, I believe Alien, but I have forgotten (sorry). Of course the basic design I worked off of was Design Studio's, tho I have changed mostly everything.
Addendum:
Yes, it was Alien, and I changed the folders to fit better with the other icons, mainly going for aesthetic over complete originality. I do not believe htat in doing so I am infringing on anyone's copyrights, etc. as the icons are still created by me, just improved to fit in with another person's work, that of Layne Karkruff. As I am not using his icon's per se, I have not gone in search of any kind of authorization. Just that I think the whole thing looks better if you use his cool system Icons. I plan to put a group of entirely original ones myself, but for the time being this will have to do.
Addendum to the addendum.
I think I went a little overboard with the orange void on v.1.1.2 so I've changed him. I'm trying to make a usable, yet funky interface, not just something to gawk at and giggle. If anyone actually uses this as thier main scheme send me a message-- I'd be honored.

changed the buttons. You still should use the gold settings as that is all I have really done, but silver and lavender are usable I suppose. Also played with the progress bar a bit. Check it out!

3d buttons!!! Improved grow bar. (In my opinion.) FIddled with the buttons some more. A few slight color changes but mostly the same deal. Oh yes, the guys at the top of the menu changed colors. Folder made with IconMaker.
